Honda Shine 100DX | Digital Films

Sometimes, the most memorable shoots are the ones that don't go quite as planned.

For our Honda Shine project, we moved the shoot from Mumbai to Delhi with one clear objective: escape the rains and get the films in the can. Delhi, however, had other plans. We found ourselves in the middle of unexpected flash floods, turning what was supposed to be a straightforward production into a bit of an adventure.

With three films to shoot in a single day, we had to make every setup count. Thankfully, the weather eventually gave us a break, and we managed to wrap all three films within the planned schedule. Most of the shots came together in a single take, leaving little room for second guesses. It was a shoot that demanded quick decisions, close coordination, and a fair amount of faith in the weather gods.

Beyond the production challenges, what made the experience special was the people we got to work with. The team at Honda brought a wonderful sense of professionalism to the set. One of the little things we took away from the experience was learning that colleagues at Honda often address one another as San, a Japanese honorific. It was a small but memorable cultural detail that gave us a glimpse into the company's Japanese roots.

The team at Kinnect was equally fantastic to work with. Supportive, collaborative, and always willing to work through the challenges together, they helped keep the process smooth even when the conditions were anything but predictable.

At One Up Motion Pictures, we love a production challenge that pushes us to think on our feet. The Honda Shine shoot was a reminder that while planning gets you halfway there, adaptability and a great team are what get you across the finish line. And sometimes, a little cooperation from the weather gods doesn't hurt either.
